On October 29, Tencent’s Monster Hunter: Traveler officially launched overseas. As of writing, the game has reached No. 1 on Japan’s iOS free chart and No. 3 on the overall iOS grossing chart. In the U.S. market, it ranks No. 3 on the iOS games free chart and No. 56 on the iOS games grossing chart, so there is still room to grow.

Monster Hunter: Traveler was first unveiled in November 2024. Developed by Tencent’s TiMi Studio under license from Capcom, it brings notable optimizations to gameplay mechanics and onboarding. The launch version features eight weapon types from the Monster Hunter series, plus an original Elder Dragon, the Luminous Dragon, and a special ecological variant, the Radiant class.

Notably, Monster Hunter: Traveler has already secured domestic licenses for both mobile and PC. This September, the team officially announced a WeGame version, and three rounds of testing have been held in China, so the domestic release likely isn’t far off.
