Recently, Shopee announced it is further expanding its logistics network in Brazil, opening four new cross-docking centers and tripling the operating area of its existing transit center in Piracicaba, São Paulo state. The adjustment adds the capacity to process 2.4 million orders per day, and Shopee's order-processing capacity in Brazil has also improved by 60% compared with the November 2025 shopping season.
This means Shopee is preparing ahead of time for Brazil's year-end shopping peak. The logistics expansion also signals to the outside world the platform's determination to keep deepening its presence in the Brazilian market.
Logistics network expands: Brazil distribution centers grow to 30
The four newly added distribution centers are located in Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Vitória and Blumenau. In addition, Shopee expanded its existing transit center in Piracicaba, tripling its operating area.
After the expansion, Shopee's distribution centers in Brazil reached 30, a significant increase from 16 a year ago. These include 25 cross-docking centers and 5 fulfillment centers.
The two types of facilities handle different jobs. Cross-docking centers mainly handle receiving, sorting and transshipment of goods, which are typically not stored there long-term but sent to the next stop as soon as sorting is done.
In addition, Shopee has set up more than 200 first-mile and last-mile logistics hubs in Brazil, along with over 5,000 Shopee agent service outlets, further extending the reach of its logistics network. From goods collection, sorting and transshipment to last-mile delivery, these facilities together support the platform's local logistics operations.

Expanding ahead of the big promotions: logistics must first handle the orders
Shopee's logistics network expansion this time is directly linked to Brazil's year-end shopping peak.
November's 11.11 and Black Friday are both key promotional nodes for Brazil's e-commerce market every year, followed by year-end consumer demand such as Christmas.
For the platform, order volume tends to surge during this period. If logistics processing capacity cannot keep up, even strong consumer intent to buy could face declining delivery and fulfillment efficiency.
Continuing to deepen roots in Brazil, local sellers are a key pillar
Shopee entered the Brazilian market in 2020 and, after several years of development, has become one of the country's major e-commerce platforms.
According to information published by the platform, Shopee now has more than 3 million local sellers in Brazil, who contribute about 95% of the platform's transactions. In addition, the platform has more than 1,800 official stores.
Local sellers' high share of transactions also means Shopee's business growth is closely tied to the operations of local merchants. For these sellers, a more complete logistics network not only means faster delivery for consumers, but also lets them use the platform's existing warehousing and delivery facilities to reach consumers in more regions.
Especially for small and medium sellers with relatively limited scale, building their own warehousing and logistics networks carries considerable cost. The fulfillment services provided by the platform can, to some extent, lower the barrier for them to expand into new markets.
From this perspective, Shopee's logistics expansion is both preparation for the big promotions and a further improvement of the operating foundation between the platform and local sellers.
This move shows that Shopee's competitive approach in Brazil is no longer just attracting consumers with coupons and promotions; it is also continuously filling in logistics infrastructure.
For e-commerce platforms, traffic can bring orders, but whether orders are ultimately fulfilled smoothly also depends on warehousing, sorting, transport and last-mile delivery working together. Especially in a market as vast as Brazil, the coverage and efficiency of the logistics network have a major impact on the platform's long-term operations.
As the year-end promotions approach, whether Shopee's ever-expanding logistics network can smoothly handle order growth remains to be seen in market performance. What is certain is that in the competition of Brazil's e-commerce market, logistics has become a key area of continuous investment for the platform.
